Arts

A selection of my personal artwork.

Persian Moarragh-Kari (also spelled Moaragh or Moaraq) is a centuries-old Iranian art of inlay, where images are not painted but meticulously composed from countless, naturally colored pieces of wood. Each fragment is carefully cut and assembled like a mosaic, giving life to intricate scenes, flowing calligraphy, and mesmerizing geometric patterns.

My passion however lies in Moaraq calligraphy. Using a delicate 2 mm jeweler’s saw, I patiently cut each element by hand, allowing every curve and stroke to emerge from the grain of the wood itself. The process demands complete presence and unwavering attention. With every cut, time seems to slow, and the work becomes more than art—it becomes a form of meditation.
